I just love this a Illustrator's particular style of Illustration I find her very inspiring and I love the fact that she creates these beautiful illustrations using traditional media.
I believe it to be as you say, first à photo then using that as a base, I can speak with some Authority as I studied at Goldsmiths in London (Fine Art)
The arm on that last one looks a bit too much like a photo wouldn't you say?
