Faster & Mother Maiden short film

"Slowly the doors to “The Unforgiving” are opening. We are proud to introduce the first of our 3 short films, called “Mother Maiden”.

These movies give further insight into the concept of our fifth studio album “The Unforgiving” and are based on the comic storyline; the characters are impersonated by actors.
Each film is followed by a band performance that, all together, form a dark and compelling tale of life, love, revenge, rage, and regret. The first movie, titled “Mother Maiden”, ties in with our first single & video for ‘Faster’, introducing the main characters of the narrative.

My two songs

Within Temptation's new single Faster, new album "The Unforgiving" out in the end of March 2011. Movie & Video out January 31st.

 This is the current members line up of the band. The reason why I have put these pictures here is because I plan to give all the members their owm characters 4 my graphic novel. In order to do so I obviously need to know what they look like well I hope the drawings look gd when Im done. I plan to draw some quick rough sketches and then when Im happy Ill finalise them. I cant wait to get started!! Once Ive done the sketches Ill upload them here so u can see how I gradually develop their characters! Until next time!

 Looking at these really takes me back to their earlier style of music which was a lot more darker and more Gothic than it is now. Now with their upcoming album they have played around with a more comercialised style of music, which have upset some fans that are used to their previous style. While most fans have embraced their new style and are supporting the fact that they are moving forward and trying something new and in a different direction. For this project I would like to try and create something that will help protomote this new album and also the bands new look and image. I have noticed while looking at the lastest cover that it features none of the band members like the previous covers feature Sharon (apart from the Silent Force) This got me thinking on the lines of creating a character for each band member and tell their story the process of making this album. With previews of two of the songs "Faster", "Where is the edge" or "In the Middle of the Night".

 Im not quite sure of what Im going to excatly do 4 the Diesel project just as yet but hopefully after some brainstorming and sketching ill figure it out.

For this brief I know I want to create illustrations 4 two of the songs from this album I want to do "Faster" (will be released 31/01/11) and "In the middle of the night" (Which has not been released yet but there is only an extract of this song) or "Where is the edge".

I want to create something like and interactive book or something with my own sort of short story of the two songs in maybe graphic novel style with my own twist to it, to help promote the album when it is released in March. Im not quite sure which format it will be in yet, I still need to do more reaserch for this but I dont want it to be digital, I want this to be done using tradtional media with different materials and textures maybe something to get its audience involved.
