Sneeky peeks

Here are a few sneeky peeks of some of the work Ive been doing painting in Photoshop CS4 and SAI

Ive been trying out different techniques of painting the first two paintings were created fully in Photoshop CS4 Which was very time consuming blending was particularily difficult as there is no tool specifically made for blending so I had to change the opacity of the brush and keep overlapping with colour to get that blended look I had to learn to master this technique on my own from scratch although quite time consuming they were quite fun to paint. The third and fourth paintings were sketched on paper in pencil then scanned in and painted on top in photoshop using muliply and the same technique I used to blend like th effect I achieved with these as you can see the texture of the pencil. The fifth, bottom painting was created in SAI I found this program to be better than photoshop as it has a blending tool it was very fun to use. When the paintings are finshed I will post them along with the process so you can see how I work.

Location, location, location

Ive been looking at various different castles in the world to inspire my Castle design my top castle is the beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, while researching I also found that its the same castle that inspried Walt Disney's design for his Sleeping Beauty castle in DisneyLand California and the Cinderella Castle in Florida! Looks like Walt Disney and Myself have something in common there. See the similarities for yourself.

The Neuschwanstein castle is an example of a real fairytale castle. another castle that caught my eye is another Castle in Germany called Burg Hohenzollern castle. Another lovely castle.

I have also been looking a little at Castle interiors. To give me I idea of how the different castle settings should look.

Story, Ideas, Inspiration..

I dont want to give too much away about the story at this point but Ill tell you who my main characters are.

Catherine - Main Protagonist
This story will be based around Catherines experiences although I plan to write in 3rd person most of the time we will be with Catherine. For the prologue I plan to write in 1st person as Catherine.

Princess Katherine - Second Protagonist
She is the second most important character but is vital to the main storyline.

Prince Edward
He is Princess Katherine's younger brother.

Florence
She is the Princesses maid. Her character is also of great importance to the main storyline.

Calvin
He is the Castle's main horseman and Florence's brother also I vital character to the main storyline

Lucian
Im not saying anything about this one you'll have to find out in the story be he's a really important character.

King John and Queen Henrietta
Princess Katherine's parents.

Ive been looking at various Images to inspire me and to use for reference. As my story is set in a sort of Victorian era Ive been looking at alot of Victorian style gothic clothes for my characters this is some of the stuff Ive found!
