Front and Back Cover

This is I think my last version of the front and back cover 4 my book. SHESH! That took some time to do. I played around with the font on the title "Stitches" texturizing it and then smudging it with the smudge tool. Its about time I got creative with txt! The reason why there is black on either side is because that is were the ribbon is gonna go so I can tie the book together at both sides to keep it closed.

When Ive made the book Ill take a photo and post it so u see what I mean.

Beautiful Papercuts

I have come accross loads of beautiful work the other day while looking through the Paper Craft book there are some really creative and talented artists in there that have created some beautiful art and illustrations crafted from paper. These have really inspired me in my animation work and I plan to use some of the techniques. (Click on the artists name to go to their website)

                                       Container Plus

I just love the way they have cut out the text here from actual books and how the have the leaves and branches growing out of them, This may be an idea to try out for my animation. beautiful.

This woman's work is just so remarkle! The amount of beauty and detail shes achieved. Amazing! I dont know if I have the patience the skill or the hands to even try to attempt this! They are just so beautiful to look at.

                                             Jen Stark

I just love these beautiful paper flowers she has created the colours all the layers shes created beautiful! I dunno If Ill have the time to try this technique out but I may try to do a simpler version for my paper flowers in my Animation.

I like the way he uses the paper to create interesting ways of using type As I plan to use some Type in my animation this is a good way of inspiring my ideas of how to use the type.

Seeing this made me think of other ways I can use paper in my animation. I could have the paper lying flat and then having an image popping up, I would animate the image slowly poping up until its standing upright very much like how this bird cage and chair are standing.

Looking at this I loved how the table is full of animals made out of table I think it really brings the table to life. This could be another technique that I use with my papercut animation as an alternative to Origami.

I fell in love with these as soon as I saw them they are just so lovely. I think its a great way of combining text and image togeter to create a wonderfull illustration, Again I dont know if ill have the time or skill to even try something this complicated but ill still give it a go.

I just love this guy's work hes one of my favorites, I just love his creativity with the paper. I dunno what else to say really, Just lovely!

"Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody Ive ever known"

"Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody Ive ever known" Chuck Palahniuk.

I picked this quote as it does relate to me as an individual.
I have met many people in my life from many different walks of life and from many different cultures and each have all influenced and become a part of me in many different ways.

I tried to show this through my illustration by combining diferent people and cultures into one body. This sorta represents myself, from my caribbean background to London's multicutural society that I grew up in.

I plan to work into this more creating a full body filed with more cuture African patterns, Caribbean colours etc.

Lotte Reiniger

Here are some real beautiful animations by Lotte Reiniger, using paper cutout

Perfect Paper

This is another fantastic book Ive been looking at Its similar to Paper craft. Two artists from this book have inspired my animation.

Andrea Dezso

She creates these beautiful installations from paper creating another new world that we can step into. I love the way she uses the lighting effectively to set the scene creating mood and atmosphere through the shadows and colours.

Sounds Of Silence

This collaboration of artists have created this wonderful installation piece using layers of cutouts to create the scene of a landscape setting. For my Animation piece I plan to create something similar using layers of paper cutouts to create a 3D set of a imaginary world for the camera to move through, taking the viewer on a journey.

Papercraft

This book has been a big inspiration for my animation piece. As I am making my entire animation from paper this book has helped me soo much! Check out this website. Papercraft This website gives u a preview of the pages in this book. the stuff in here is sooo inspirational!
